The Valle del Este golf course is an 18 hole, par 71 golf course of 5,696 meters, 4,808 for ladies. The desert of Almeria surrounding the course, offering occasional glimpses of the Mediterranean, and the folds of the terrain make for a spectacle of visual contrast and a perfect setting to enjoy golf in. Wide fairways, elevated tees, receptive greens with a wide range of flag positions, as well as strategically-positioned water hazards and bunkers to make each hole an authentic challenge regardless of your standard of play.

Designed by José Canales and opened in July 2002 the course is perfectly integrated into the surrounding landscape making use of indigenous vegetation and natural contours of the land, creating a stunning oasis in the desert of Almeria. There is a good combination of very challenging holes, with other less strenuous holes. The course design and setting make it quite spectacular. The tees are particularly noteworthy, positioned on small raised platforms surrounded by volcanic rock. The fairways are wide and there are a lot of large sand bunkers on the course as well as 3 lakes and several waterfalls. All in all, a real challenge for players of all levels.

SUPERMARKET AND SHOPS
Just five minutes drive to the busy town of Vera, with lots of shops, supermarkets, weekly markets, restaurants and shops.
Just ten minutes drive to the aqua park, Garrucha and Mojacar beaches.
Although this is an apartment located on a golf course it is near the coast and very popular as a family holiday destination. Many of the apartments are privately owned by family’s.

Therefore if you are not interested in golf there are lots of other facilities available for the whole family, with the added bonus of spectacular views across the mountains and golf courses.

The hotel, golf clubhouse and resort shops are a short stroll away along with the commercial centre where you will find a cluster of bars and a restaurant, together with a bank, internet cafe, hairdressers, gift shop, newsagents and supermarket.

The local towns and villages include Mojacar, Vera, Cuevas, Turre, Garrucha and Bedar. These are all typically Spanish in nature but have the convenience of supermarkets, banks, chemists, doctors, a large variety of excellent restaurants and also weekly markets.

South of Mojacar, between Carboneras and Almeria is the Cabo de Gata Natural Park. This is a wild rugged area, ideal for those who like hiking or simply looking at the stunning scenery.

Further inland about 2 hours drive is Granada with the well known Alhambra Palace and Genora Life Gardens – a place not to miss. About a 10 minute drive there is the hillside town of Mojacar Pueblo is very picturesque with whitewashed houses set on top of one another with narrow streets.

It has many shops and restaurants and some stunning views and sunsets from the village plaza.

Various activities can be found in the surrounding area including go-karting, horse back riding, mountain biking, climbing, fishing, sailing, historic sites, a theatre/cinema, water sports and a Wild West theme park situated on the location of many Hollywood films. Details of local attractions and a guest suggestions book are provided within the apartment.

The Costa de Almeria has the driest and hottest weather in Continental Europe, averaging 330 days of sunshine and low rainfall. The summer temperatures are in the 80’s and winter weather is very mild due to the local topography of the surrounding hills and mountains.

The Andalusian province of Costa Almeria can be found in south-eastern Spain. This beautiful and largely unspoilt region features more than 200 miles of dramatic coastline.

Directly in front of the Villa’s entrance door is the small pool which is surrounded by rockery, palm tree and flowers. Local amenities consist of :-

Cabrera Castle – An old Moorish castle which forms the heart of the village, within the grounds there are tennis courts and horse riding facilities. Two fantastic restaurants, firstly “Fatimas” a great tapas bar, serving traditional Andalucian and Moorish cuisine. It has a lovely easy atmosphere, whilst appreciating the views.

Also Los Pastores a quaint restaurant within the original walls of the castle, outstanding food, wines and beers from all over Spain, both within walking distance to the villa. The area is good for mountain walks, exploring caves, and observing wild life of the surrounding nature reserve.

The nearest beach is Mojacar @ (15 mins drive) which is lively with lots of restaurants and bars, bands, music and several nightclubs.

During the day the beaches are never overcrowded like many of the Costa’s and there is always ample space to sunbathe even in the peak summer season. Andalucian beach “Chiringuitos” are sprinkled along the beach front. These beach bars serve good food and drink throughout the day and usually have live bands at night.

At the foot of the mountain is the village of Turre a working Spanish village with lots of restaurants, bars, small traditional shops, large supermarket, banks and a weekly market

There are several online companies that can offer car hire from Almeria Airport.

Please note if you book car hire via Aurega or Crown there collection point is based off site from the airport. Therefore we would recommend one of the other alternatives.

Or should you prefer a private taxi can be organised to collect you from the airport and take you direct to your Villa.

The other option would be to book the coach transfer when booking your flights with Easy jet or Ryanair. The coach will then drop you near to the complex.

From local fishing village to the new hypermarkets an ideal location if you wish to experience the true Spain away from the fish & chip shops and English breakfasts. The apartments are situated in a very peaceful location with no through traffic allowed on the complex, making the area safe for children to explore.

Each property has its own front garden along with lockable gate. Also there is a security guard patrolling the complex from 17:00 hours until 07:30. A very safe and secure environment.

The gardens are well established and plentiful in flowers and lush trees “a very pretty complex”.

The apartments consist of ground floor and 1st floor only, no high rise buildings.

An additional bonus is that there are no restaurants or noisy bars internally within the complex to disrupt your well-deserved sleep!

Although the apartments consist of one bedroom with twin beds or pushed together double, they are large spacious apartments which afford lots of space even with the large double sofa bed in the lounge is in use. The apartment sleeps four very comfortably and in addition there is a dining area with table and chairs.

The interiors are fully furnished in good taste with pine units, marbled floors, fully fitted kitchen and washing machine, microwaves, toasters, kettles, TV sat channels.
The Complex

The facilities consist of two large open-air swimming pools, one of which has food and sports facilities such as water aerobics and children’s club, while the other is more for relaxation, both are surrounded by gardens.

Also an ample sized indoor heated pool covered by a glass dome (ideal for the early morning swim) and for the winter months a heated Jacuzzi/spa.

For fitness during your stay, there’s a private gymnasium and tennis courts – (there is a small charge for the use of the indoor facilities).

Set around the complex are a selection of shops, supermarkets, two tennis courts, a bank, a roast chicken take-away and numerous family friendly bars and restaurants of every nationality.

The long sandy beach is just a 5-minute stroll away – it stretches for miles and is never crowded.

This area is also a designated nature reserve and an award winning blue flag beach.

A new promenade leads you along the beach and into the quaint fishing town of Garrucha. This town is alive with activities.

A very traditional Spanish working town with many traditional shops, weekly market. Amazing fresh fish restaurants along the Marina, water sports and much, much more!!

Upon entering Garrucha Marina there is a fun fair held during the Fiestas in August. Great for both small and big kids alike!

And of course with every fun fair comes the traditional Churros y Chocolate stalls, (long shaped donuts which you dip into a pot of warm chocolate), best eaten “after” the fun fair rides!

During the summer months there is also an evening market on the promenade selling nic nacs.

The entrance is by key only. The keys are only issued to owners and renters. No access to the general public.

Transfers and Car Hire

There are several online companies that can offer car hire from Almeria Airport.

Please note if you book car hire via Aurega or Crown there collection point is based off site from the airport. Therefore we would recommend one of the other alternatives.

Transfers

Or should you prefer a private taxi can be organised to collect you from the airport and take you direct to your apartment.

The other option would be to book the coach transfer when booking your flights with Easy jet or Ryanair. The coach will then drop you near to the complex.
